Anthea Davis, 18 is completing her intermediate apprenticeship in business and administration working within the human resources department of Paragon Skills for Industry. “I was unsure what I wanted to do after finishing my two years at college so I didn’t complete my second year of A levels and began work on my apprenticeship. HR is the direction I want to take my career in. I am now part of the team here at Paragon and I have my own responsibilities and what’s even better is that I am getting qualifications at the same time as working in a job that I really enjoy.”
Paragon Skills for Industry business and administration qualifications cover gaining skills such as processing information using databases and spreadsheets, producing documents, issuing stock items and communicating information.
Paragon Skills works with more than 6000 learners in different areas. It has its head office in Bournemouth but has offices and training centres all over the South, South West, Berkshire and the Midlands.
Anthea works in the HR department of the Paragon Skills Weymouth office and after completing a year of AS levels at Weymouth College she signed up to do her apprenticeship – as she felt she would be better suited to this. Anthea is working on her intermediate business administration qualification and plans to go onto the advanced apprenticeship once this is completed.
Amanda Hanger, HR Manager and Anthea’s boss, said: “Anthea is a valued team member, and is a joy to work with.”
