Who is this application for?

All providers who are training provider network members of the four networks in the South West.

How has this project been funded?

The application has been funded by a variety of sponsoring organisations. The development of the application has been funded jointly by South West Region LSC Train to Gain marketing funds and Aimhigher Life (Dorset). The provider registration module development has been funded by Aimhigher West (West of England, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire).

The year one maintenance and quality support for the application is being funded by the LSC and Aimhigher West.

Project management has been provided through the South West Training Provider Network Train to Gain support role.

What about quality?

Quality is very important as the gallery on the home page will be a window to the sector (Providers of all types, Aimhigher, Connexions, schools, funding bodies, Local Authorities, learners, employers and all other stakeholders) and may be wider!

So after you have followed the easy steps in the case study building process you will be given the opportunity to check your work. You can edit and change at this stage. You will then be given the option to submit.

The study will be reviewed by specialist copywriters for grammar, spelling (although there is a spell check and editing tool built in), appropriateness and general copy standard.

Once approved the study will be posted in your My Documents folder within the application and in the gallery for all to see and access (with permissions of course).

The gallery will be reviewed regularly by the administrators to ensure quality standards are maintained, in the interest of all users.

How do I access it?

You can access the site at www.swtpn.com . You can access the certificate and case study builder tools when you have applied for your license and received your organisations login details.

How much will it cost?

Nothing in the first year the project funding given by the sponsors covers all the development, maintenance and support costs for the first year.

During the first year we will monitor the success of year one and development requirements for year two, listening to user feedback through the provider networks. We will then set license fee for year two payable on renewal, dependent on total projected costs.

The aim will be to make this as reasonable as possible as it is an application provided by the networks for the membership.

How much can my organisation use it?

As much as you like, there are no limits.

Both case studies and certificates can be produced?

Yes these are two separate tools within the application, one to produce case studies and one to produce certificates.

How long will it take me or a colleague to build a certificate or case study?

It will differ between users. All you have to do is follow some simple step instructions, fill in text fields, upload an image (if required), check and submit. Test users have said that the process is user friendly and quick.

What if I get interrupted half way through?

Everyone has busy working lives and this is likely to happen. If it does the application saves your work automatically, you can logout or just leave it. When you go back or log back in you will see the study or certificate in your domain telling you the percentage completed and give you the option to continue inputting.

How will gallery users find appropriate case studies in the gallery?

The build process will ask for compulsory completion of certain fields (sector, programme, provider, qualification level, progression to HE, school, Geographic area etc). These will all be drop down options. These categories will be used as a search function within the gallery so users can target their search.

How will the finished certificates or case studies be formatted?

You will have a choice of sector specific or generic templates (very colourful and professional), the relevant programme logo (Apprenticeship or Train to Gain for example) will appear automatically as will your company logo. There will also be the option of your network logo if required.

The certificate or case study will be in pdf format.

Can I download a case study or certificate?

Yes, the outputs are in pdf format you can download to send by email.

Can I print the case study or certificate?

Yes search for the case study or certificate in your domain or in the gallery using the search tool and print straight from the application.

How do I remove a case study or certificate?

Notify the application administrator and they will remove the template and send confirmation by email of its removal.

When can I start using the application?

As soon as you have a license and login. You can apply for a free license, when you respond and complete the application process you will have a login for your organisation. You will then be a registered user and can start using the website tools.
